I have been a social worker since 2008 after I received my Master of Social Work degree from CSU Chico. I worked as a Clinical Social Worker for 4 years specializing in addiction and recovery for adolescent males. I began work as a graduate research assistant at the University of South Carolina in 2014.
I bring an extensive background of evidence-based implementation and research experience to Compass. As a PhD candidate, I specialized in implementation science and clinical social work interventions. Specifically, my primary research interest focuses on evidence-based behavioral interventions and factors that influence the implementation of these approaches in non-medical settings. My secondary research interest focuses on behavioral health clinical skills training within health and human services education, curriculum development and the use of direct observation.
I have extensive experience managing federally funded social work training programs. I was a Graduate teaching assistant at the University of South Carolina College of Social Work for 3 years and was a visiting professor at the Austin Peay State University in Tennessee. I completed my PhD dissertation in the fall of 2020.
At Compass I develop training products and curricula to ensure that our case managers and direct service providers receive industry leading training, developing high levels of competency in caring for our clients. I also evaluate the efficacy of our training and development programs.
I enjoy life in beautiful and scenic Northern California. My wife and I enjoy the outdoors and I am especially passionate about fly fishing, mountain biking and Nordic skiing.
